New Ransomware Blocks Internet Access

Ransomware blocks an infected computer from accessing the Internet until a fee is paid via SMS (text message) The latest ransomware file is bundled with a program called uFast Download Manager. Once a machine is infected, a message is posted in Russian demanding a ransom under the guise of activating the application. Researchers say this is a new piece of ransomware that blocks Internet access until a payment is made via SMS or a registration code is sent to the infected computer. The latest version of the latest ransomware is available in the U.S. National Institute of Cybersecurity.
