Landry s announced that 63 of its restaurants may be affected by payment processing system malware. The point-of-sale (PoS) systems used to process payment card data at Landry’s restaurants had end-to-end encryption enabled. The malware was able to read track data from the the order-entry systems, including the cardholder’s name, card number, expiration date and internal verification code. The breach occurred between March 13, 2019 to Oct. 17, 2019, with a small number affected as early as Jan. 18, 2019.
