Police Grab Slilpp, Biggest Stolen-Logins Market

The U.S. Department of Justice seized Slilpp, a well-known marketplace for selling stolen online logins. More than 80 million sets of credentials for sale were for sale, used to inflict over $200 million in losses in the US alone. The marketplace allegedly caused hundreds of millions of dollars in losses to victims worldwide, including by enabling buyers to steal the identities of American victims, the DOJ s Acting Assistant Attorney General Nicholas L. McQuaid said. The full impact of the marketplace is not yet known.
