2011 DDoS Botnet Landscape

Jose Nazario of Arbor Networks discusses the current botnet landscape and the adoption of new modular functionality in some bot families. Botnets deliver exploit kits, malware and mass Web site injections. Researchers have spotted notable code overlap between the Sunburst backdoor and a known Turla weapon. Researchers at Recorded Future report a rise in cracked Cobalt Strike and other open-source adversarial tools with easy-to-use interfaces.
