Ransomware has been in the news this week, but mostly Russia and the Ukraine. The biggest story was the Bad Rabbit outbreak that targeted numerous countries. We also had a bunch of smaller variants released this week. McAfee has released a tool that allows victims to download various decryptors for the ransomware they are affected with. McAfee plans to open up a framework that can be used by other researchers to add decryption keys that they find. The latest ransomware strain named Bad Rabbit is wreaking havoc in Eastern European countries, affecting government agencies and private businesses alike.
