Alleged Ukrainian Malvertiser Extradited, Faces Hacking Charges

Oleksii Petrovich Ivanov was extradited to the U.S. from the Netherlands and is facing hacking charges. The 31-year-old Ukrainian national allegedly ran multiple malvertising campaigns between October 2013 through May 2018. Ivanov and co-conspirators allegedly ran malicious advertising campaigns with an international reach, employing stolen identities to create and use various fake companies to register domains that were later used to host and launch malicious ad campaigns. The group allegedly “caused unsuspecting Internet users to view or access their malicious advertisements on more than one hundred million occasions”””
