October Microsoft Patch Tuesday Has Something for Everyone

Microsoft has released 13 new security bulletins in the October 2009 version of Patch Tuesday. Windows 7 and Windows 2008 R2 are affected for the first time. Microsoft has closed out two previously active Microsoft Security Advisories. The sheer volume of bulletins and subsequent patches this month will likely give administrator fits. Microsoft releases a total of 13 bulletins, eight have a severity rating of Critical; the remaining five have an important rating of Important. Microsoft also releases a number of new security updates for Windows 2008 and 2009.
