Apple Plans to Block All Covert, Cross-Site Tracking in Safari

Apple published the WebKit Tracking Prevention Policy, outlining the types of tracking practices being blocked by the Safari web browser. The WebKit web browser engine used by Safari on all Apple platforms currently uses a feature dubbed Intelligent Tracking Prevention (ITP) which manages site cookies to make sure that sites cannot use cookies and other collected data to stay on their users’ tracks while they’re browsing the web. The newly published tracking prevention policy was inspired by Mozilla’s anti-tracking policy, published on January 28, 2019.
