Backdoored Torrents Infect Movie, TV Fans with GoBot2 Malware

Malware dubbed GoBotKR is being distributed via files downloaded from South Korean and Chinese torrent sites. Hundreds of samples have already been detected on compromised computers of users from South Korea, China, and Taiwan. The malware is being disseminated as part of a campaign started back in May 2018, with hundreds of samples already detected. The GoBot2 backdoor variant is customizing the GoLang-based malware that is available since March 2017. It allows operators to add the compromised machine to a network of bots that can then be used to perform DDoS attacks.
