Google Under GDPR Probe After Ad Exchange Privacy Complaint

The Irish Data Protection Commission (DPC) announced that it started investigating if Google’s processing of personal data collected by the company as part of Ad Exchange online advertising transactions is breaching GDPR regulations. Brave Chief Policy Officer (CPO) Dr. Johnny Ryan is the one who triggered the probe into Google’s online advertising data collection practices with a formal complaint which says that the company’s DoubleClick/Authorized Buyers advertising system is leaking personal data of website visitors to thousands of companies. The Irish data privacy watchdog also stated that it will also investigate Google’s data retention practices.
