Facebook has banned Cambridge Analytica and SCL Group from the platform. Cambridge Analytics, the data analytics firm behind Donald Trump’s campaign, has been suspended from Facebook. Facebook confirmed over the weekend reports that an app made by a team of academics had collected vasts amounts of user data. This data was used to target US voters in the 2016 Presidential election, according to Christopher Wylie, a former collaborator of the app. Facebook says it took steps to ensure the involved parties had deleted the data from their servers.
