Trump bans China-linked apps for collecting Americans’ data

United States President Donald Trump has signed an executive order banning eight Chinese apps considered to be a threat to US national security, economy, and foreign policy. The eight apps targeted are Alipay, CamScanner, QQ Wallet, SHAREit, Tencent QQ, VMate, WeChat Pay, and WPS Office. The order bans “any transaction by any person [..] with persons that develop or control”” the Chinese connected software applications “”or with their subsidiaries”” not later than 45 days.”
