The European Union announced today an agreement between various regulating bodies and mobile carriers that will help eliminate in most part roaming charges across the EU space starting with June 15, 2016. The agreement includes a fair use policy and sustainability mechanism that dictates data transfer limits for which carriers must eliminate roaming fees. The European Parliament and the European Council must now formally approve the agreement, which will then be passed on to member states. The plan doesn’t face too much opposition in European countries and is expected to come into full effect by the scheduled date of June 15.
