Microsoft is rebranding Office Online to Microsoft Office as part of a larger strategy to stop using platform-specific sub-brands for products available on more than one platform. Microsoft also announced that Windows Defender is being rebranded to Microsoft Defender. Microsoft encourages others to still use “Office for the web”” to describe the online version of Office whenever having to reference it.
