The European Union has asked that streaming services reduce the quality of its videos to standard definition (SD) to reduce the burden on the Internet. Netflix has agreed to lower the bit rate of their streaming videos by 25% for the next 30 days. Both Amazon and Google have also agreed to reduce quality of streaming videos for their platforms as well as YouTube. The EU has called on streaming services, streaming services and users to do so to prevent network infrastructure being overburdened. The move follows in the footsteps of Netflix, Amazon and YouTube.
