New Ransom X Ransomware used in Texas TxDOT cyberattack

Ransom X is being actively used in human-operated and targeted attacks against government agencies and enterprises. MalwareHunterTeam found a ‘ransom.exx’ string in the executable, which we believe is the name of the new targeted ransomware. The ransom note includes a contact address, email address, and instructions on how to pay the ransom. The Texas Department of Transportation suffered an attack by new targeted..ransom X. The ransomware encrypts all of the data on the computer and append a custom extension associated with the victim to each encrypted file.
