Fake eBay Ad in Google Search Led to Tech Support Scams

A fake eBay ad in the Google search results has been running for the past week. When you click on it, instead of being brought to the auction site you would be shown an annoying tech support scam that would try to lock up your browser. The ad was only available for U.S.A. IP addresses and only at certain times of the day. Google has since removed the ad, which is used by scammers to bypass the ad review process. The scam is still live and should be avoided by using Google’s Ad Reporting Tool and Bing’s Low quality form.
