Verizon s 2020 Data Breach Investigations Report (DBIR) analyzed 32,002 security incidents and 3,950 data breaches over the past year. Cyber-espionage attacks and malware decreased, but other trends, such as security errors (cloud misconfigurations, etc.) saw startling growth. DBIR co-author Gabe Bassett, who is the senior information security data scientist at Verizon, talked to Threatpost about the biggest takeaways from the report for this year.
