Microsoft has seen an explosive 775% growth in its cloud services due to increased demand in video conferencing, remote collaboration software, remote Azure active directory services, and game console use. Microsoft has also seen a 42% surge in the use of Microsoft’s Power BI data visualization tools by governments using it to share COVID-19 dashboards with citizens. Microsoft announced that it had to reduce some of the functionality of its Microsoft 365 features to handle the increased capacity. The increased demand has forced them to start increasing capacity, reroute new services to less utilized regions.
