The Week in Ransomware – January 17th 2020 – Never Ends

The Sodinokibi Ransomware has released stolen files stolen from one of its victims for the first time. Ryuk now uses the Wake-on-Lan feature to power on computers so that can be encrypted. A new version of the Satan Ransomeware was released that utilizes Mimikatz and Eternalblue, which is not commonly seen in ransomware samples. The cybercrime group that brought us Satan, DBGer and Lucky ransomware, has now come up with a new version or rebranding named “5ss5c”””
