Web.com Data Breach

Florida-based web hosting company Web.com said it was breached last week and hackers made off with payment card and personal data belonging to 93,000 customers. The company did not say in a statement or press release whether the stolen data was encrypted, nor how it was accessed. The breach was detected Aug. 13 and the company said it contacted law enforcement and a security consulting firm to assist with its investigation. It has more than 3.3 million customers and said that it is offering a year of credit monitoring.
