The DoppelPaymer ransomware group is claiming that it launched a cyberattack against Torrance and is now leaking the city s data online. The city of Torrance, a coastal U.S. city in the South Bay region of LA, has a population of nearly 150,000. The attackers are demanding 100 Bitcoin ($689,147) in ransom from the city. On March 1, the city did report that its email accounts and servers were impacted by a cyber attack.
