A U.S. judge blocks the Commerce Department s plan to ban Chinese apps TikTok and WeChat over the weekend. TikTok owner ByteDance reached an agreement to sell significant ownership stakes to Oracle and Walmart. While the deal is reviewed, the Department of Congress has put the ban on download ban on hold for at least a week. Meanwhile, a judge in California issued a preliminary injunction against a decision by the department to ban WeChat, owned by Tencent. The ban was set to go into effect on Friday as executive orders were signed by President Trump.
