Overlay Malware Targets Windows Users with a DLL Hijack Twist

New overlay malware dubbed Vizom is being actively used in campaigns targeting online bank users in Brazil. Researchers say the new code is prevalent in Latin America and a top offender for the past decade. Overlay malware is similar to other overlay malware strains in that its attack vector is via malspam and phishing campaigns delivered to potential victims inboxes. The new malware leverages some legitimate computer code used by the Chromium browser Vivaldi, and binaries from a popular videoconferencing software.
