New Windows 10 update helps prevent battery swelling in HP laptops

Microsoft has released a new Windows 10 update that forcibly enables the Battery Health Manager UEFI option in HP business laptops to prevent battery swelling. With improved charging algorithms, HP now wants this setting enabled for all support devices. HP hopes to reduce a laptop’s risks of experiencing battery swelling and chemical aging by enabling this feature. Users should change the BIOS setting to ‘Maximize my battery duration’ which will adjust battery charging and performance. The update is rolling out today to Windows 10 1809, Windows 10 1903, Windows.
