The Week in Ransomware – June 14th 2019 – pyLocky and GandCrab Cleans Up

This week we saw French law enforcement releasing a decryptor for the pyLocky Ransomware. We also saw a charity in Washington and a airplane manufacturer become infected with ransomware. A new ransomware called SD 1.1 was posted on the BleepingComputer forums and was identified by Amigo-A. The ransomware appends the[[email protected]].enc extension to encrypted files. It is quite ugly. The ransomware is being distributed through a LNK file that contains a PowerShell command.
