Google spun off its self-driving cars unit as a separate company called Waymo. Waymo will now be part of the Alphabet group, a parent company that manages a multitude of Google-based ventures. The company’s name, Waymo, comes from the phrase “A way of moving forward”” Google also announced a partnership between Waymo and Fiat Chrysler to collaborate on a ride-sharing service.
