Spyware Disguised as System Update Survived on Play Store for Almost Three Years

Android app that secretly contained spyware family named SMSVova survived on Google Play Store for at least three years. Google took it down this week after a report from mobile security firm Zscaler. Android users complained the app didn’t update their system as promised but disappeared from their screen after they ran it the first time.
