Julian Assange has been arrested at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London. The WikiLeaks founder took refuge in the embassy in June 2012 to avoid extradition to Sweden over a sexual assault case. Ecuadorian President Len..n Moreno today withdrew his political asylum. U.S. Department of Justice confirmed today that Assange would face extradition proceedings for his alleged role in “one of the largest compromises of classified information in the history of the United States” Assange’s arrest comes a day after WikiLeaks editor Kristinn Hrafnsson accused Ecuadorian government of an extensive spying operation against him.
