New RAMBleed attack is based on a well-known class of DRAM side channel attack called Rowhammer. Rowhammer bug is a hardware reliability issue that was found in new generation DRAM chips. Attackers can use bit-flip mechanism to read data in protected memory belonging to other programs and users. Researchers: Attack is a threat to not only integrity but to confidentiality as well as the integrity of the memory integrity of a modern system. RAMBleing attack also relies on the Rowhammer mechanism; but instead of writing data in adjacent rows, this attack allows attackers to read information in protected data.
