New Flaw Lets Rogue Android Apps Access Camera Without Permission

Vulnerability discovered in Google, Samsung, Google phones that could allow malicious apps to secretly take photos and record videos. Attackers can access device camera and microphone without any permissions to do so, researchers say. The vulnerability affects Google’s Pixel 2 XL and Pixel 3 models, Samsung’s Galaxy Note 4 and others. Samsung has released patches to address all Samsung device models that may be affected by the flaw. Google has not disclosed the names of the phones affected devices, but Checkmarx rated the issue as “high in severity”
