MyHeritage Says Over 92 Million User Accounts Have Been Compromised

Israel-based DNA testing service MyHeritage was breached last year by unknown attackers. The company discovered the data breach on June 4, 2018, after a security researcher discovered a database file. The database included the email addresses and hashed passwords of nearly 92.3 million users. Other sensitive data such as family trees and DNA data are stored on separate systems. The Israeli-based company advised users to change their passwords and keep a stronger and unique one, just to be on the safer side.
