14-Year-Old Admits to Attempting to Hack Brussels Airport a Day After ISIS Attack

A 14-year-old US teen admitted to attempting to hack Brussels Zaventem Airport on March 22, 2016. Authorities said the cyber-attacks took place on the night between March 22 and 23 but were unsuccessful. FBI investigators also executed a search warrant at the suspect’s home in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Investigators said teen didn’t act on any religious beliefs, and only thought this would be a good time to hack the airport as staff would be preoccupied with other tasks. Analysis of the teen’s computer drives also didn’t reveal any ties to ISIS or other terrorist groups.
