FBI Arrests Researcher Who Found ‘Kill-Switch’ to Stop Wannacry Ransomware

Marcus Hutchins, 22, arrested in Las Vegas after attending Def Con hacking conference. British National Crime Agency confirms arrest of British citizen but hasn’t confirmed it is Hutchins. Hutchins is accused of six counts of hacking-related crimes along with another unnamed co-defendant allegedly involved in the development of the banking malware known as ‘Kronos’ Hutchins has been arrested by the FBI for “” between 2014-2015. WannaCry was really bad, as the nasty ransomware forced the NHS to shut down hospitals and doctor’s surgeries.
