Chinese Hackers Attacking Military Organizations With New Backdoor

Bad actors with suspected ties to China have been behind a cyberespionage campaign for nearly two years, Bitdefender says. The malicious activity is said to have been conducted between June 2019 and March 2021. Researchers say the threat actor dubbed “Naikon APT” has a track record of targeting government entities in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region in search of geopolitical intelligence. Backdoors named “RainyDay” and “Nebulae” installed to amass system information, carry out file operations.
