The U.S. Government has set up a cross-agency ransomware task force, a hub for ransomware resources, and is offering $10 million for information on state-sponsored cyber attackers. Ransomware is a long-standing problem and a growing national security threat, the Department of Justice said in the announcement. The Department of State announced it’s offering a reward of up to $10m for information leading to the identification or location of any person who, while acting at the direction or under the control of a foreign government, participates in malicious cyber activities.
