Major Bitcoin Exchange Suspends Service, Suspecting Attack

Bitstamp, the world’s second-largest Bitcoin exchange, suspended service today, pending investigation of a suspected compromise. Some skeptics say the move may be a precautionary measure. The price of Bitcoins fell to $260.84 late Sunday, more than $100 less than what it was just one month ago. The latest in a string of attacks on Bitcoin exchanges, including Mt. Gox, BTC and Mt.Gox, all fell victim in February 2014. Researchers have said over 100 flavors of malware were stealing Bitcoins and other forms of cryptocurrency, via wallet-stealing.”]
