Exec Order Could Force Software Vendors to Disclose Breaches to Federal Gov’t Customers

The White House is considering an executive order on cyber-security measures. The order would require the government to notify the public about a breach. It would also require software developers to make sure they don’t hack the government’s servers. The proposal was first proposed in February, but it has since been rejected by the White House and the National Institute of Technology (NDI) It is unclear whether the order will be implemented. In the U.S. Congress will vote on a new law this week.”]
