Cyber Analytics Database Exposed 5 Billion Records Online

A researcher discovered an unsecured database left some 5 billion records exposed online. The exposed data included names, passwords, email addresses, and the original source of the leak. The stored data is part of Cognytes cyber intelligence service, which is used to alert customers to third-party data exposures. The company secured the exposed data three days after the researcher discovered the leak and blocked the data from going online. It’s unclear exactly what caused the leak, but the company says it was able to quickly respond.”]
