Google Calls Out Insecure Sites in New Chrome Version

Use of the unsecured HTTP protocol has diminished by more than 20 percentage points. Chrome browser users will see a “Not Secure” label in the address bar. Google also offers encryption at no additional cost for website owners through Let’s Encrypt, a free certificate. Users of the latest version of Chrome (68) will see “not secure” notification when visiting sites with unencrypted web pages in bright red letters for the October release of the new version of the Chrome browser.
