The role of Tier 1 or Level 1 security operations center (SOC) is on track for extinction, experts say. A combination of emerging technologies, alert overload, and automation are starting to squeeze out the role of the “Tory 1″ role. The role will become more like the Tier 2 or Tier 3, says Forrester’s principal Forregan Pollard, who says it’s not a great use of talent that’s out of necessity. New technologies like JASK, which offers an artificial intelligence-based platform, will ultimately morph the role into a more automated and streamlined process.”]
