Mimecast confirms SolarWinds attackers breached security certificate, ‘potentially exfiltrated’ credentials

Security firm Mimecast says hackers may have exfiltrated encrypted service account credentials created by customers hosted in the U.S. and the UK. The London-based firm says it’s not aware of the hackers decrypting or abusing any of the stolen credentials. A stolen software certificate of this type could allow an intruder to lurk undetected and spy on clients for months. President Joe Biden raised the SolarWinds hacking campaign in a call Tuesday with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the White House says.”]
