Zoom promises to implement geo-fencing and meeting encryption to address the findings. Zoom CEO Eric Yuan promises further changes to the company’s security controls. A report by Citizen Lab, a group based at the University of Toronto, highlighted weaknesses in Zoom’s encryption. The report also warned of “potential areas of concern in Zooms infrastructure, including [transmitting] meeting encryption keys through China” The increased use of Zoom’s teleconferencing platform means that it’s likely being used, at least in some cases, for intragovernment communications.”]
