Vodafone, Huawei Dispute Report of Telnet ‘Backdoor’

Vodafone, Huawei dispute Bloomberg report that backdoors could have allowed Huawei access to Italian fixed-line network in 2011 and 2012. Bloomberg refers to telnet functionality that had been enabled in some Huawei home routers as a “backdoor” VodAFone says telnet was present for diagnostic purposes but should have been removed. Bloomberg cites internal documents indicating that Vodaafone was irritated with Huawei for re-enabling telnet, which was discovered in another check. The story is causing a stir, in part, due to terminology.”]
