Two Friends Who Hacked TalkTalk Receive Prison Sentences

Matthew Hanley, 23, and Conner Allsopp, 21, pleaded guilty to participating in massive October 2015 TalkTalk hack. The two men, who are friends, were identified as part of a lengthy investigation conducted by the Metropolitan Police Cyber Crime Unit. Police have arrested six individuals, including a teenager in Northern Ireland, in connection with the TalkTalk breach. The exposed personal data included name, address, date of birth, telephone number, email address and financial information. The company’s estimated total losses due to the data breach now stand at $99 million.”]
