Spain Says Top Government Officials Hit by Pegasus Spyware

Spain’s prime minister and defense minister were infected with Pegasus spyware, government officials allege. Israel’s NSO Group says it only provides the surveillance software to approved law enforcement and intelligence agencies. The company has faced mounting criticism that authoritarian governments regularly use its tools to spy on journalists, human rights advocates and dissidents. UK government, Catalonians also allegedly targeted by Israeli spyware; at least 63 people in Catalonia have been infected with the malware.
