P.F. Chang’s Ruling: Is the Tide Shifting?

A federal appellate court overturned a lower court’s ruling that rejected a class-action lawsuit against P.F Chang’s. The Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals overturned the case against the restaurant chain last week. A similar, earlier decision in a case against Neiman Marcus was overturned in July 2015. Legal experts offer widely varying opinions on the impact of the ruling on post-breach class action lawsuits. The rulings could signal a substantial change in how federal courts view harm in the wake of a retail breach, says cybersecurity attorney Chris Pierson.”]
