U.S. Office of Personnel Management has temporarily suspended use of an online background investigation system. The agency says it does not believe that the vulnerability was exploited by attackers. A breach of OPM records involving about 4.2 million current and former federal employees was first discovered in April. The breach-related lawsuit filed on behalf of federal workers alleges privacy law violations and negligence by OPM officials in their approach to information security as well as their response to what many consider to be one of the worst data breaches in government history.”]
