Obama Sees Need for Encryption Backdoor

President Obama and British Prime Minister David Cameron discussed encryption at a joint White House press conference. Obama said he sees the need for law enforcement to gain access to encrypted data on a suspected terrorist’s digital device. Cameron reiterated his belief that it’s justifiable for authorities to access encrypted data. Obama stopped short of calling for a law requiring manufacturers to provide a so-called “backdoor” to break encryption on mobile devices. Security experts say any attempt to undermine crypto would fail on numerous fronts.”]
