Marriott’s Starwood Reservation Hack Could Affect 500 Million

Marriott’s Starwood reservation database has been hacked, potentially exposing up to 500 million accounts. The unauthorized access to the database started in 2014, the hotel giant says. Marriott International acquired Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide for $13 billion in 2016. New York’s attorney general, Barbara Underwood, and Maryland’s Brian Frosh, have opened investigations into the breach. Marriott says it has not finished identifying duplicate information in the database, but believes it contains information on up to approximately 500 million guests.”]
